Bun In The Oven

Well we definitely have a growing baby!  I had an appointment this afternoon and we seem to be healthy and happy.  And we're officially in the home stretch now, 6 months down, 3 more to go!  Welcome trimester #3!

26 weeks

27 weeks and goodbye second trimester!

28 weeks and sporting the jammies from Aunt Amy!

Everyone says I'm still pretty small so far... but I sure feel big!  In fact, I am officially into maternity jeans.  So weird!  And the peanut squirms around like she has no more room in there.  She is however starting to take up room out here.  We inherited a few boxes of brand new baby girl clothes (thank you Ashley and baby Tenley!) and now have a whole drawer full of darling stuff that is super cute, super tiny, and way too much fun for me to look at!

She already has more to wear than Tim and I combined, but that's the way of it I guess.  Right?

Holiday Canning and Food Storage...ing

Monday was President's Day which meant a university day off, which meant Tim was home!  Joy!  It also happened to mean a ward cannery assignment that we were available for!  We did chicken noodle soup, a personal favorite.  Tim got the really cool job of loading the full boxes on the palate and hauling those around the warehouse.  Me?  I was the can checker.  Yup, official title - I stood/sat by where the cans come out of the labeler and made sure that no silver cans made it through half dressed or without clothes.  It was pretty sweet.  I guess pregnant women get the most important jobs  :)  Love us some cannery work!

We were able to do a little shopping as well...

Our pantry now makes us look deceivingly prepared, and thanks to our Winco trip our fridge and freezer now make us look deceivingly healthy... nice to have it all stocked though, gives me more opportunities to be creative with my cooking.  Tim loves that.

No Groveling Required

I generally consider myself fairly easy going, however I do have a few quirky (and perhaps irrational?) pet peeves that have a way of pushing my buttons.  Unfortunately, Tim is not quite privy to all of them, or at least doesn't think of them with the same weight of importance that I do, yet.

This morning I went in the bathroom and found this:

Cringe!  Tim had already run off to class, so I left the empty roll on the holder, determined to make him change it this time (the ultimate punishment), and sent him a message that said something about how he was in big trouble if he didn't fix this little habit.  To which he replied,
"Oh why don't you go blog about it... I'm sure it will make you feel better, or go play Bejeweled ;)"

Uh huh... my initial reaction was on the side of the defense.  Granted I do have a weakness for both, but to provoke an already irritated woman I thought was pretty bold... perhaps too bold.  So I started scripting a real crusher when I realized that rebellious pot-stirrers don't text with winking smiley-faces.  He's not one to kick up dust like that anyway.  So I went to the computer, and found this:

A thoughtful surprise love note.  I of course vetoed my scripted reply, changed the roll of toilet paper, and went on with my day all smiles.  He was off the hook.  Perhaps I have underestimated this boy... Well played Timothy Borup, well played.

Someday

I've been wanting to post an update, but really not a lot has been going on.  Life is beautiful, we've just kind of been in the groove.  It gets like that.  We'll be swinging to a whole new groove in just a few short months though, and I've been doing some wondering about what we might/hope to be writing about in the future:

    - Someday we will read the Sunday school lesson before church
    - Someday we will live somewhere less cold and less snowy
    - Someday we might miss the snow... maybe not the cold...
    - Someday I will have a masters and doctorate degree
    - Someday Tim will have white hair and look very distinguished and go by Dr. Borup
    - Someday we'll have a family of blonde-haired-blue-eyed kids that we will name cool things like
          Timotheeanna and Optimus Prime
    - Someday we will be an awesome missionary couple
    - Someday I'll play with a prestigious orchestra in a really fun concert
    - Someday I will be caught up on scrap booking and journaling
    - Someday we'll have a little house with a porch and a mailbox
    - Someday I will be learned in classic literature and will have devoured all the must-reads
    - Someday, we'll love eating fresh food from our garden
    - Someday we'll travel somewhere exotic
    - Someday I will be crowned Tetris Queen

Ok, maybe not that last one... But our Someday looks pretty awesome!  And potentially busy... in the meantime though there's plenty of Today to enjoy and look forward to!  In fact, there's a grocery shopping trip calling my name as we speak  :)

Happiness is...

... a Sunday afternoon with a good movie, a fun lunch, and a wonderful man!  Why yes, we'll have two orders of Who-Cakes please, with a side of Who-ville and Dr. Seuss-y-ness, and top it off with sheer joy if you will?  Perfect!

What a Weekend

Well we certainly had a weekend for the record books... I'm sure it will be one we laugh about later.  But for now, the highlights.

The Good: Tim giving an awesome presentation at a medical conference in California while I got some awesome time in Boise, Announcing to the family that we're having a girl!, My dad's homemade pizza, My darling nephews, Shopping with mom and Amy, and a Fabulous date at Panda Express!

The Not So Good: Getting a flat tire at 11:45 pm when I should be at the airport getting Tim, Discovering that our spare is actually flat as well, Spending all day Sunday getting new tires and spending probably way too much money getting brakes fixed, and not getting back home until late!

Yup... good times.  I should have obeyed my totally lame fortune from Panda and bought a new car I guess.  And yet again, SO grateful for my dad and Dianna!!!  Luckily the tire trauma happened just down the road from their house so that me and my pregnant self didn't have to fly solo!  As inconvenient as it was, we were blessed to have things happen how they did.  Another time and place would have been way more inconvenient, so I'm grateful for that.

Lesson Learned: Check spare before hitting the road, Pay more attention to seemingly irrelevant fortune cookie messages, and next time, Buy two tickets to sunny Cali instead of one and try our luck there!
