Round Round Get Around, I Get Around

I get around
Ooh Ooohh ooh ooh!

Now, if you end up with Beach Boys stuck in your head for a while just thank me later.  You and I both know they so totally rock, and now the rest of your day can only be fabulous.  In fact, here. Just treat yourself to the real deal. You're welcome.

By the time I finish getting this typed and posted I'm pretty sure McKenna will probably be crawling. She is so close it's crazy.  Within the last couple days she has really mastered several pre-crawling classics and has proudly adopted an "I see it, I want it, and no matter how awkward or creative I have to be, I will get it!" kind of attitude. I'm starting to get used to walking out of and back into a room to find her nowhere near where I left her.  It's only a short matter of time before those knees and hands start working together and she'll officially be off.  Sheesh.  Just check out this repertoire of sweet moves!

The arms-only push up. A classic.

The roll, of course.

The Plank.

The one knee under, one foot out diva pose. This seems to be her favorite.

The hands and knees back-and-forth rock.

The 360 degree tummy swivel.

The baby yoga downward dog. This is my favorite.

And the push with my toes and scoot on my belly until my little arms can reach.

This is all happening much to the dismay of Brinlee, who likes to leave her toys set up on the floor, but does not like baby slobber on her stuff!
Little McKenna sure is proud of herself though.

The Sickies

Yesterday the girls and I journeyed across town to daddy's school to pick him up and on the way home Brinlee told me her tummy wasn't feeling good.  I figured she was hungry and told her we'd be home soon to get some dinner.  And I didn't hear anything else from her.

When we got home I helped her out of the car and sent her toward the house, grabbed the diaper bag, and turned back around to see her puking all over the sidewalk. She spiked a fever last night and has been pretty miserable so far this morning.  Poor sweetie.  I feel bad for her... But honestly, how awesome is she? Saves the barf mess for a time and place that makes clean up nice and easy for us.  Even with the sickies she's so thoughtful.

Such a good, sweet girl  :)

When Awesome People Come to Ohio

Well we have just been super lucky lately to have so many fun visitors!
Last Monday my beautiful sister and her two fabulous little fellas showed up at our airport (Yay!), and yesterday they flew back home (Boo!).  It was SO much fun to have them here!!  The days went by way too quickly, I wish they could have stayed another 10 days!  Poor Brinlee has just been wandering around all day not sure what to do now that her play buddies are gone  :(  But we had a good time running around like crazy.  I'll try to recap our adventures a bit (not that words can really do justice to the awesomeness of this visit!).

It rained a lot!  But we managed to find a sunny day and enjoyed the splash floor.

Out enjoying the local cuisine.

You can't come to Columbus without planning for a day at the zoo!

And COSI, of course!

We managed to bribe the kids into getting dressed up for a little cousin photo shoot.  None of them were super thrilled about it.  We got a lot that looked something like this

But we did manage to catch a few keepers.
Look at these darling little faces!

Tea parties and play dough please!

And lots and lots of cuddles!

Honestly, does it get any better?
I love my family  :)
If only I could watch those cousins cuddle every day...

...sigh

Thanks Amy, Brian, and Aiden for the fantastic visit.  Come back soon, please?
