The Girls Room

Last night we moved McKenna's bed out of our room, and Brinlee's room officially became
The Girls Room

I was kind of surprised at how happy it made me to see two little beds in that room.  And I was really surprised how happy it made Brinlee! She sure does love that Little Sis. And Little Sis loves her right back.  And I love them both!!!  I've said it before and I'll say it again, sisters are the BEST!!!

4 Months

Well, McKenna is a whole 4 months.
The days sure do go by fast!  We can't believe how cute and FUN this little girl is!  She is such a special little lady and she makes us all smile every day!  I had a whole bunch of fun pictures picked out, but then I remembered this little video we took of her a few weeks ago, and it pretty much sums up our days around here.

Is she not the sweetest?!  And she is like that most all the time.  Talkative. Happy. Darling.
She is getting way too big.  She sleeps through the night (yay!), is growing like crazy, and lately has been acting hungry all the time.  So, we went ahead and tried some cereal tonight.  No surprise, she mostly just made a mess (and of course I forgot to put a bib on her... nice).  But she seemed to like it!

Such a happy, chubby, perfect little baby.  We are just tickled with her!

Happiness Is...

...sitting outside enjoying 50 degree weather while Brinlee re-discovers her sidewalk chalk and watching the last bit of snow finally melting off our lawn!
We are SO excited to see Spring poking its head around the corner!
Loving us some nice weather.

Dr Seuss Days

Well, it's that time of year again.
The Dr had a birthday!

I think I may have mentioned once or twice (or quite a few times) before that I kind of really love Dr. Seuss!  I grew up on his books and still enjoy them even now.  We read them a lot at our house.  Is it so bad that I want my girls to love them too?  They're just so fun!

On Monday was Dr Seuss' birthday, and I had big plans actually.  But, as is the case a lot around here lately, the baby's nap times just weren't as long as we needed them to be, and we didn't end up getting to everything.  Better luck next year maybe.  But we did enjoy a few fun Seuss-inspired festivities.  Here's some pictures of a few of our adventures. See if you can guess what they were!

*PS. Yes, those footie pajamas on Brinlee do actually belong to Tim.  I'll also let you guess at how those got into our closet.

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!

It's Never Too Early

I mentioned a month or two ago that we had Brinlee running around in a cute little tumbling class.  And by "cute little class" I mean so so SO CUTE!

She absolutely loved it!  Today was her last class of this session, but we're going to go ahead and sign her up for the next round.  I mean seriously, just watch this.

We've been practicing some moves at home, and it's making me super hopeful that in the fairly near future we can try a dance class!  Eek!  :) Yay!  It's never too early to get started with the good stuff, right?  Well, ok actually we may need to wait until her little attention span is just a tad bit longer. The tumbling class only requires 5 minutes of paying attention before she can just run wild, which is good because 5 minutes is just about the max.  But! Those 5 minutes do show promise!  :)

A Few More From February

Well, here is the rest of our last month.  This post is picture-heavy.  I would make some comment about how I have the camera out too much and apologize for the photo overload, but I'm not really sorry.  I just love our family!  :)

Brin can't get enough of legos! She builds all day long, and then shares her stuff with baby sister. "Here McKenna, look what I made for ya!  Look mommy, she so happy!"  I hope her love for sharing lasts.  It's so cute!

This pretty much sums up our day every day:
Brinlee with crazy hair (because she won't let me put in ponytails) and no clothes (because for some reason she won't leave them on).
McKenna thinking she's big enough to sit up.
And lots and lots of sister lovies!
We have pretty good days around here  :)

The girls helped me decorate for February, and they had cute Valentine's day clothes, Tim and I actually got out of the house (without the girls!) for a Valentine's day date, and I really need a hair cut... maybe I should look into that for March.

It's still freezing here, and everyone keeps passing around coughs and runny noses, and we got a ton more snow.  It's magical (read: miserable).  We had super loud trucks outside all day last week working on some frozen water pipes.  Oh, and we had no water all day.  Perfect.

We don't see the sun, and the girls and I try to just stay in.  We're going a little stir crazy.  My toddler entertainment ideas are running thin.  These are Brinlee's Snoodle wings.  Snoodles are from Veggie Tales, and she likes to flap around like they do (literally, she just jumps around saying "Flap! Flap!").

This is what a med school daddy of two looks like, every spare minute he gets.

O-H-I-O!  Love those Buckeyes.

Brinlee is officially on "the big white potty".  We retired the little Minnie potty, and now she just does stools with "potty seats" (so her tiny buns won't fall in of course).  When we're out and about she doesn't miss a beat.  She tells me "Church doesn't have a little potty seat, so I need to be so brave!"  And then she is! She's so awesome.

Look how stinking big this baby is!  :(  Such a sweetie.  And she is trying really hard to be a thumb sucker...

The Reed Jr. in Tim came out the other day.  We found a cheap treadmill on Craigslist, and poor Tim is getting so tired of sitting at a desk (who thought med school would require so much study time?!).  So, he built himself a treadmill desk.  Now he studies on the move, and his sanity is being saved.

I have felt like a bad mom all winter because I never want to take Brin out in the snow.  And then when we do take her out I remember why I shouldn't feel bad.  Bundling her up in all those layers is not super worth it for the 3 minutes she actually enjoys being out.  But she is dang cute!
