ODUS vol. 4: Thank You's

These thank-you's are of course overdue, hence why they are part of the Overdue Update Series (aka ODUS... yup, still clever).  But it would be a horrible oversight to completely leave them out.  So, some HUGE belated thank-you's to my mom and mother-in-law for keeping our house clean and our fridge stocked for the first month almost of post-baby, to my sisters for the fun visit, to my dad and Dianna for the visit, gifts, and well-wishes, to our good friends Kreed and Ann for the meals, to our ward and home teachers for checking in, and to countless wonderful ladies for the darling gifts!  We have been so richly blessed and have so many to thank for it.  So, thanks!  :)

ODUS vol. 3: Sisters

In preparation for this post, please enjoy this classic little tidbit:

Perhaps the dancing men aren't the most feminine... but they are entertaining, and the song about sums it up anyway...

Oh how fun to have my wonderful sisters come and visit!  They are marvelous aunts!  And, little known fact, they happen to be quite marvelous dates as well.  While they were here we went up on campus and enjoyed a little bit of Bill Cosby LIVE, aka: dream come true!

And then we went and enjoyed 2 pounds of hamburger and 1 pound of bacon slapped between two massively large buns, aka: heaven!

None of us really look alike do we?  But we do look like we are having a dazzling time.  Two thumbs way up for sister dates!  :)

...two thumbs down though for the extra pounds that big old burger put on....
see you at the gym

ODUS vol. 2: 3rd and Emerson

In the happy land of Eastern Idaho, in a small place known as Idaho Falls, there lies a magical place called Grandma's house.

I spent a lot of days of my young life drinking root beer, eating cookies, and running around the yard on the corner of 3rd and Emerson street.  What a blessing it has been to have my grandparents be a part of my life.  And now what a blessing it is to see them be a part of my daughter's life.

Even though she's not yet running around the yard, we are starting to make her own memories on the corner of 3rd and Emerson and have enjoyed a few wonderful visits down to the happy place of Idaho Falls.  And we look forward to many more!

ODUS vol. 1: Out and About-ings

On June 1st little Brin was a whole 4 weeks old, which meant we had reached the recommended "1-month-of-keeping-her-home" mark, which meant we ventured out!

Wednesday of that week we did a trial run to the grocery store, and that little angel did awesome!

First family outing, huge success!

So the next night, we ventured out for round two and enjoyed our first post-baby date night.
Destination: Drive-In Movie

And again, Brinlee did Awesome!!!  What a wonderful baby!

We are now officially out-and-abouters!  SO nice to not be tied to home anymore.  Besides, she looks so cute and tiny in her car seat  :)

Overdue Update

Welp... this poor blog has been officially neglected.  I'm not quite sure what has happened to me here.  I would blame it on the baby... but she sleeps like a champion, so that excuse is no good.  I even got on a few weeks ago and posted a teaser post in hopes that throwing something out there would motivate me to get on and finish filling things in.  But alas, all I have now is a couple more weeks that have passed and a new list of things to add to the "need to blog about" list.

And so, let me initiate The Overdue Update Series, otherwise known as, ODUS (clever, no?).  Unfortunately there may be several installments, and may take a few days still to get all together, but should be some good reading...

...if only it weren't so late.......

*sigh

Three Weeks of Awesome

Well this blog is in serious need of an update... unfortunately I am in more of a "play with this cute happy baby" mood right now than a "update the blog" mood.  So the real updates will have to wait a little longer.  In the meantime, we can get ourselves excited for:
       - out and about-ings
       - date nights
       - mothers, aunts, and grandparents
       - ice cream
       - Bill Cosby
       - two pound hamburgers
       - chocolate desserts
       - back to church-ing

Intriguing, no?  We've sure been having a good time enjoying the last three weeks of awesome, and have managed to snap a few pictures.  Eventually it will all find its way into a few posts... now, on to kissing these cute baby feet!
