Happy Birthday America

Our 4th of July celebrating this year kind of took the blunt of "The Ohio Move" blow. We are starting to lock things down over there. Very exciting.  But, we are also starting to get a feel for what this trip is going to cost us.  Not so exciting.  Consequently we didn't get too ambitious with this holiday and kept things super low key.  It was kind of nice actually.  We spent the morning playing around, took late naps, and played with some fireworks in the evening.  Brinlee was a huge fan of the snakes and poppers (which she preferred to step on rather than throw actually).

It took her a little while to get brave enough to go near a sparkler, and then it took her another little while to warm back up to them after one sparked on her. Ouch.  Tim looked pretty awesome burning through several super manly, multi-colored sparklers, by himself, while Brin kept a safe distance.  Life of a dad.  But in the end she decided they were "awesome"!
We decided last minute to venture out to Melba for their big firework show.  We had heard it was pretty good, and we weren't disappointed!  I worried Brin would be scared, but she was mesmerized.  That's my girl.  I've always thought fireworks are so magical!

What a blessing it is to live in a country that allows us such important freedoms.  I have a warm place in my heart for this nation and for all of the men and women who have and continue to sacrifice so that our life can be awesome and our little family can be happy.
Happy Birthday America!
