Yes We Did!

Well we finally did it this year.
We actually did Halloween!
I'll say it again, I don't like Halloween. It's annoying.  Tim and I so far have just kind of... ignored it.  But Brinlee was old enough this year to catch onto it and get excited about it, and I had the time.  So I figured, hey, why not, right?  All out Halloween time. Woo!

We decorated!

We went to the ward Halloween party!
In themed costume even!
Brinlee loved the trunk-or-treat (read: Brinlee loved the candy), even though I had to remind her every time what to say  :)

Quite a while ago Brinlee decided she wanted to be Piglet (capital "P" Disney character Piglet) for Halloween.  Her costume wasn't quite done, but still looked like a piglet (lower case "p"), so we tried to do some farm theme.  See!  We have pregnant farmer mommy (because overalls actually fit me), little piglet Brinlee, and this... Amish.... farmhand maybe?  It worked.

We did a themed meal!
Halloween morning we did ghost bananas and candy corn waffles.

We put the toddler in costume and went to get a free Krispy Kreme "ghosty donut"!

We planned for our little Pumpkin!
One large, orange, 37 week Halloween sweetie!

We Trick-Or-Treated!
Ok it was raining, and I was tired, so we did a grand total of 3 houses, one of which was ours.  She knocked, and I gave her candy.  We did a couple neighbors too.  Classic.  Hey, she loved it!  And yes, I even made that costume (which was way harder for me than it should have been) and decorated that bucket.  High class stuff.

 We carved (and painted) Pumpkins!

When we shut off the lights to watch them "glow in the dark", Brinlee kept running around telling me "This is a great fun party, mom!"
I'm actually pretty proud of our efforts this year.  We'll take it as our first Halloween success.
Oh yeah!

The really awesome part about the whole thing??
We stocked up on some serious candy, and did not see even one trick-or-treater.
What to do, what to do...  :)
