MOMENTS

At the start of the year I made a goal to do more video recording.

It's no secret that I go a little overboard sometimes in the picture department (not that you can ever really have too many though in my opinion), but I am not the best at getting the video recorder out and doing home videos.  I always wish I had them later, but sometimes their kind of tough to remember, or annoying to do in the moment

Then I heard of this idea to do a one second video, every day. There was a TED talk about it a while ago.  I actually bummed the idea off of a friend of mine.  But I love it!  Sometimes I get a little frustrated feeling like my days are just blurring together.  I stay busy, but feel like I really don't do much of anything.  Day in, and day out. Scrambled eggs, grocery store, sticky hands, "No don't touch that!", laundry, spilled milk, toys everywhere, peanut butter sandwiches, the same 3 picture books over and over, cleaning toilets, dinner, "But why mom?", diapers, bathtubs, cracker crumbs, bed time, dress-ups, crayons, Sesame Street, and if I hear any more crying I may lose my mind!
And we'll do it all again tomorrow.

It gets tough!

But oddly enough, I want to remember every minute of it all.  Because it really is the good stuff, and I love it!  And really, aren't those seemingly insignificant, little daily-grind kind of moments the things we will eventually want to remember and wish we could have back?

So we're giving it a try! Neal A. Maxwell said "Moments are the molecules that make up eternity".  We're just hoping to do a better job finding joy in, and remembering our molecules!

And honestly, who doesn't love a memory montage set to emotional music?!  It makes everything look magical and gets me every time!
