SLSS VOL 3: BOWLING, BUILDING, BATHS, AND BUTTERFLIES

RIGHT UP OUR ALLEY

Most of the summer we didn't see much of daddy, he was a busy fella.  But we did happen to snag him one afternoon for a kid's choice family day out.  I was surprised they picked bowling, but it was a blast!

We decided to make our game a little more creative...
and a little sweeter!

Are these not the cutest little bowlers you've ever seen?!

SOME OLD FAVORITES

We kept our summer pretty busy.  I was feeling a little sentimental (read: very sentimental!) about the whole "Brinlee starting school and not being around all day every day anymore" thing, and I really just wanted to milk the most out the time I had left with 2 schedule-less little pals.  And we did a pretty good job getting out and running around.
But we also enjoyed some relaxing days together just at home too.  Play time with these happy, fun, creative kiddos is always a treat for this mama, and some of our lazier days are my most favorite!

CONSERVE-YOU-TORY

A year or two ago when we had grandma and grandpa here, we spent an afternoon checking out the conservatory.  And it was really fun.  The girls were littler then though and didn't remember it at all, and I knew they'd get a kick out of the butterfly room.

Ok let's be honest, I wanted to go back to the butterfly room... for myself.
It's so magical!
And the girls thought so too.  They could have watched those butterflies forever!
The conservatory (or 'conserve-you-tory' as McKenna calls it) is now one of their favorite places to go!

We stopped for a while to eat a snack and watch a glass-blowing show.  It was amazing!  I didn't think the girls would care for it much, but they were mesmerized. Especially Brinlee.  She's decided she wants to learn to do that someday, and in the meantime, she's wanting to earn some money so she can go back and buy a glass-blown keepsake from the shop.

Be still my heart!
